New Student Code of Conduct coming to Central
Central School District is implementing a new Student Code of Conduct. The document will create greater consistency between all of our buildings when it comes to interventions and consequences for unsafe, harmful, or unhealthy decisions.
The new Code of Conduct is partly in response to our Parent/Caregiver survey from last spring. In that survey, parents and caregivers told us that we could improve on the statement: I believe school rules are enforced consistently at this school, where we scored a 2.95 out of 5.
The document lays out rights and responsibilities for students; parents, guardians and families; community members; and teachers, administrators and other school personnel. It also defines levels of intervention and disciplinary responses on an increasing scale from Level 1 to Level 4. The Code of Conduct gives students, parents and caregivers, and staff a guide on what to expect when unsafe, harmful, or unhealthy decisions are made.
Individual circumstances will still be considered when deciding what level of intervention or disciplinary response is needed.
Please be on the lookout for the new CSD Student Code of Conduct online and at all of our buildings. We are eager for everyone to know the expectations, interventions and consequences of unsafe, harmful, or unhealthy decisions at school.
